YAHUKIMO - In celebration of Christmas 2024 and as part of fostering social communication with the local community, the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force joined a Christmas service at Metanoya Church in Yahukimo Regency, Papua, on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
Task Force personnel of Christian faith attended the service alongside local residents, demonstrating a commitment to interfaith tolerance and fostering a sense of brotherhood in their area of deployment.
The Christmas service began with hymn singing, followed by an opening prayer, a sermon by the pastor, messages of blessings, and a symbolic candle-lighting ceremony.
Letkol Marinir Rismanto Manurung, S.M., M.Tr. Opsla., CTMP., Commander of the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force, who attended the service, emphasized the importance of the event in strengthening ties between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community.
“This Christmas service is not only a celebration of the season but also an opportunity to strengthen the bond between TNI and the people. In this month of love and compassion, we aim to foster better relationships with the community through shared worship. We hope this effort contributes to building a brighter future for Papua, ” said Letkol Rismanto.
The event highlighted the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force’s dedication to maintaining harmony and unity among the diverse communities in Papua while reinforcing their role in securing peace and development in the region.
Through this initiative, the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force continues to embody the values of inclusivity and solidarity, ensuring that their presence not only enhances security but also uplifts the spirit of togetherness among the people of Papua.
