Spreading the Spirit of Christmas: Yonif 6 Marine Task Force Attends Christmas Service in Yahukimo

YAHUKIMO - In celebration of Christmas 2024 and as part of fostering social communication with the local community, the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force joined a Christmas service at Metanoya Church in Yahukimo Regency, Papua, on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

Task Force personnel of Christian faith attended the service alongside local residents, demonstrating a commitment to interfaith tolerance and fostering a sense of brotherhood in their area of deployment.

The Christmas service began with hymn singing, followed by an opening prayer, a sermon by the pastor, messages of blessings, and a symbolic candle-lighting ceremony.

Letkol Marinir Rismanto Manurung, S.M., M.Tr. Opsla., CTMP., Commander of the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force, who attended the service, emphasized the importance of the event in strengthening ties between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community.

“This Christmas service is not only a celebration of the season but also an opportunity to strengthen the bond between TNI and the people. The event highlighted the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force’s dedication to maintaining harmony and unity among the diverse communities in Papua while reinforcing their role in securing peace and development in the region.
