Warm Smiles in Balamai: Army Chief’s Gifts Delivered by HABEMA Bring Joy to Papua

INTAN JAYA - Residents of Balamai Village in Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya Regency, joyfully welcomed packages from the Chief of the Indonesian Army, delivered by the 509 Task Forces under the Operational Command HABEMA. On Thursday, 26 December 2024, the Soldiers from Koper Post, led by Second Lieutenant Alvinta Sembiring, carried out a heartwarming Social Communication (Komsos) activity during their mobile security duties.

This initiative aims to strengthen the bond of trust and collaboration between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and local communities, aligning with the Indonesian Government's mission to accelerate development in Papua.

During the interaction, the Soldiers distributed an agricultural sprayer to the villagers, a practical gift to support local livelihoods. Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, Commander of the 509 Task Forces, emphasized the significance of addressing fundamental community needs while ensuring security. “Through these interactions, we aim to foster trust and unity while contributing to the well-being of the residents, ” he explained.

The gesture was met with heartfelt gratitude from the villagers. Mario Japugau, one of the recipients, expressed his appreciation: “Thank you, Bapak Kasad, for the packages we received. God bless.” Such words reflect the deep impact of this outreach, bringing not only resources but also hope and reassurance to the community.
